DykeAndGay is an independent unit within the Students' Council of the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg. We are the student advocacy for all sexual minorities at the university. The goal of our members is both to give lesbian, gay or transsexual students a focal point, and also to help with problems in general university life.
The focus of our work is culture and politics. Every term we organize various lectures, book readings, panel discussions, movie nights and things like that - and, of course, parties! We are after all a student organization. We hold weekly meetings where you can come to know our members and many other people. This allows us to offer all interested students a social network. Everyone is welcome!
Politically DykeAndGay is with the "lesbian and gay political roundtable of Saxony-Anhalt". There, we strive to improve education and ensure a sufficient political attention to our concerns.
Our special range of events includes a variety of free-time activities, as well as our library, which is regularly extended, and possibly a personal consultation for you with problems in the student life in particular, by discrimination.
